2017 end of year final results updated.
The 2017 end of year final results have been updated on the website. The points are calculated by dropping the competitors lowest 2 results from 10 comps. This year we only had 9 comps so only the best 7 results were taken. Looking forward to another big year in 2018!
Clubhouse update…
Hi Terry, John, Roger, Tim and Tim, Brad, Richy, Marnie, Brian, Allan, Dave, and Darryn.
I thought I would resend this letter of support we got from the councils CEO to you all. This letter is confirmation that council is right behind us with support for our lease in conjunction with a development application.
We have now put in our application to the state as the owners of the land for their permission to enter into a development application with Council .Brad is at present negotiating with Council and the State to clinch the deal so we can begin our development application. I would personally like to thank Brad for his professional support with this stage of the application.
To date all meetings with State and Council has been extremely supportive and helpful. We are really happy with this support and have taken every step to convey our appreciation to all staff for Their support. We also continually thank the councillors for their support especially Crs Dwyer and Cox. The State members Mark and Jarrod too have given us letters of support which we are very appreciative.
A big thanks also to Brian Warner for his help in obtaining a conditional aboriginal cultural heritage clearance for the project to proceed.
Thanks to Richy for all the time he has given to draw and prepare the wonderful plans we have and Roger and Marnie for their professional help and support to assist Richy with the planning concept.
We need to thank Tim Hindley for his initial vision for the project and the stepping plates collected on the way.
Big thanks to Jenny Faddy and Noni Baxter for preparing and submitting our funding application to Sport and Rec.
Thanks also to all the other members of the steering committee for their help and guidance.
BUT a really big thanks to Terry and John for their behind the scenes guidance and support during every stage of the way and the many meetings we attended to ensure no stone was unturned.
Thanks to all other members of the public who have encouraged us to keep going and have shown us their support and directions.
Now comes the stage where we need all hands on deck as the development application requires community consultation and as it is impact assessed a sign will be placed at the site so the public can express their opinions on the proposal. We hope the application to Council will be submitted by the end of February and the consultation process starts in early March.
This is when we will need personal, individual letters of support to ensure we have the best advantage for council to hopefully approve the proposal.
We will call a meeting at the appropriate time to ensure we develop the very best planned community consultation process.
Please pass this positive information on as we have our eyes now on the prize so we don’t want to drop the ball at this vital stage.

Registration is now open for 2018 club membership. We are also having a Single Fin comp/sign on day on Saturday the 27th of January at Moffs. Places in the single fin comp will be limited and you can register on the day so get down there early. There’ll be more info on that shortly. Hi all
Well Xmas is just around the corner and I cant believe how quick this year has gone.
Well done to both Anna Toohey & Will Carter who competed at Aussie Titles finishing with great results. Well done from all of us at Windansea.
The Straddie Assault ran last month with the club finishing in 6th position, an awesome result from the team in very trying conditions on Saturday at Main Beach.
With 25kn-30knt onshore wind and rain, it made for a long day, Great team support shown from everyone. Eli hanging onto the marquee couldn’t prevent it from blowing over though.
You need to eat a few more meat pies at work mate, your too skinny.
The Dec 10th comp will be our last of the year and we will have a break-up get together afterwards, Maybe a fat guy in a red suit may make a visit.
Membership will be due starting next year from Jan 1st. Please go to Surfing QLD Website to join.
Cost of membership has risen. All new members will receive a T-shirt. Only one per family.
It is also highly recommended that you join Surfing Queensland for the insurance coverage they provide. Surfing in our club and rep comps you are not covered by any personal accident
insurance.
As for new members they must be invited to join the club by a current or past member.
Good news for all you hidden hipsters and beard growing members in club, We will be kicking off the new year with the Windansea Single fin comp on Sat 27th Jan 2018 ( Aussie day long weekend)
This will also be sign on day as well as the Club Presso’s for 2017 will be handed out at the end of the day.
Last years comp was a fun day and with all the (expensive) prizes handed out im sure divisions will fill quickly.
If your lucky enough to have already got your tickets Sunnyboys & The Celibate Rifles are playing that night at the Shed Aussie World ( I have yeww )

The points from the September contest have been updated with a number of position changes. Deano out in front for the Senior Mens and the younger crew blitzing the opens! Skye has a healthy lead in the O14’s girls and the points are tight in the Masters. Looking forward to the next contest.

July and August Newsletter from the Pres.
Last weekend the Dan Thomas Memorial was held north of Kawana Surf Club. Our own club member Cam MaDougall took out the u/14 div YEEEW, as well Skye Faddy made open womens semi and Will Carter made the semis of u/18 boys. Well done to everyone that competed. Kawana Boardriders do a great job of running this event and have kept it going year after year.
This weekend Sat 22nd the Sunny Coast Cup will be held by Northshore Boardriders, we will send the location via text and Facebook as soon as we know. Team has been notified by Deano. Good luck to all competitors.
The weekend of 15th-18th Sept will be our club camping getaway. We have timed it so that members can also watch and support club members competing in the Kirra Jnr Team event held at D bah.
Our Club has had some solid results in this comp over the years, so book your site and come down for an awesome weekend. The club will provide dinner on Sat night.

Straddie Assault is not far away, weekend 21/22nd Oct. Club has rented a House over there for a week. Club members are welcome to come and support the team, the only cost is $50 if you stay in house. Its always a good weekend away
Don’t forget all you grommies, the Parko Grom Comp is on 31st Oct – 3rd Sept.
Les Aberley, Clive & myself are off to the Masters Aussie titles at the end of the month, this year we’re at Cabarita N.S.W. Comp is mobile anywhere between Ballina & Dbah so there’s a good chance we should score some good waves.
Photos from the PA & MA Bendall have been printed onto a Hard cover book, Dan Hayward Photography has put together some awesome shots from the comp. If anyone would like a copy please contact either Tim Carter or myself.
Clubhouse update,
We are still waiting for State Government to approve, Wheels of progress can turn very slow so hang in there everyone.
Next Month is our AGM and it will be held Wed 9th August 7.00pm at the Currimundi Hotel ALL CLUB MEMBERS are required to attend to elect a new committee for 2017-2018.
