47th Annual memorial surfing contest ,one of the longest running contests in Australia. Held over the Easter long weekend at Caloundra’s Moffat Beach ,come down and celebrate the history of Pa and Ma Bendall. Presentations to be held at the Currimundi Hotel Sunday afternoon.

Day 3: Sunday April 4th – Finals Day start time TBC (details update on Pa Ma Bendall Facebook Page) Easter Bunny giving away Chocolate Eggs. Presentations at the Currimundi Hotel with live bands from 5:30pm onwards in the beer garden.
This year WindanSea Surf Club is inviting past members, especially those from the 1960’s and 70’s to attend the ‘PA’ & ’MA’ Bendall Memorial Surfing Contest. We have organised a special marquee for the three days just for older surfers and friends to call in and tell their stories. On the Saturday night 3rd April, Los Gringos will be playing from 6pm – 9pm in the Beer Garden at the back of Currimundi Hotel and club members are welcome. It’s free entry from 5pm with normal hotel menu available if you want to eat at venue. You might be asking, who is ‘LOS GRINGOS’, well it’s a local group of boys who have been on the surf scene for decades. Led by Paul ‘Gringo’ Anderson who opened the first Mexican Restaurant in Mooloolaba and set up Plantation Surf.
For entries – Age divisions are as Surfing Australia Rules
Over – must be that age as of the 1st January 2021
Under -must be under that age as of the 31st December 2021
All competitors receive a bag which includes T Shirt and other goodies, plus everyone who makes the final in there respective division will receive a medal or trophy .
Due to not be able to run last year and we rely on this event to keep our club going. Prize money this year will be only in the Open divisions and be calculated from the amount of entries in the respective divisions.
Competitors head to the Surfing Australia website for entry. There are still plenty of spots left particularly for Junior and Womens divisions.
