Well done to Curtis Ewing from Point Lookout Boardiders for his win in the 2021 Pa & Ma Bendall Memorial Surfing Contest. Contested in a growing east swell under tricky conditions, contestants did well all weekend to generate some stunning surfing throughout alll divisions. The open mens final was a showcase of progressive surfing with some of the best power surfing seen in the event. Curtis took the lead early demolishing a large set with at least half a dozen hooks and just when it seemed an unbeatable tally Zane Jenner pulled out a 2 turn combo on one of the biggest sets seen that left nothing on the table. The 8.67 pulled up just short of the required score and a releived Curtis celebrated a hard fought and well deserved win.
